This section lists some things that can improve the performance of XTrackCAD.

On the View dialog (View Commands) turn off Show Snap Grid or Change Grid... to have fewer grid points.
To speed up initialization, remove unused parameter files (See Parameter Files dialog - Parameter Files).
Close the Map window if you don't need it to move about the layout. The Window (Window Menu) menu can be used reopen the Map window.
On the Display dialog (Display Dialog) turn off drawing Endpoints, decrease the Two Rail Scale, increase Min Grid Spacing, set Draw Ties to None and turn off Live Map.
